Windows 7 Ultimate No Audio Output Device. The driver software for this device. Download and. The HD Audio Device, it says that 'no drivers are. ATI HDMI Audio Device Driver. The ATI HDMI Audio Device Driver is a software complement to your sound card. License: Free OS: Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7. Audio device windows 7 free download - Realtek HD Audio Drivers R2.82: The official drivers for High Definition Audio, and much more programs. Suddenly got a red cross over audio output and no sound. Thought hardware problem. Bought basic soundcard, installed drivers. Still red cross still no sound. Looked on MS Answers. Tried every single suggestion regarding drivers and such. Downloaded drivers and installed them like a fool. Free Download Audio Output DriverNo change, nothing. Eventually realised not a driver issues. Windows corruption issue. Made clean install from DVD and voila, sound is restored with no red cross. Then tried doing refresh from Windows.old. Achieved this successfully and.red cross re-appeared.Now have done a clean install once more and have a machine with working sound but no user files or data. Damn Windows folder; there are 45,485 files in my Windows.old version of Windows (folder) and 45,307 files in my clean install version of same folder. Somewhere in that vast haystack is the needle that explains why sound does not work. Damndest thing. For others suffering from the audio issue, while many well-intentioned folk here have put forward sensible suggestions about drivers, they are not necessarily the answer. And in fact may just waste a lot of your time. Anyone with suggestions for restoring more selectively from Windows.old or my latest back-up (obviously without causing the corruption.)? My machine: Lenovo 3000 J115 73886BG AMD 64 Proc 3500+ BIOS LENOVO 2NKT31AUS SMBIOS 2.4 Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7600 Build 7600. Hi SpiritX/Rob, thanks, yes I already tried that and in fact made a successful restore from the windows.old folder. Unfortunately the restore also knocked out my audio (and networking and probably some other stuff too - another story)! I've reconciled myself now to living with my clean install, did a fresh pile of WIndows Updates (about 250 MB worth!) last night and all still good. Machine still has audio, still has networking. I'm going to treat it like a new machine, just re-install those programme I actually need/want as opposed to the piles of 'stuff' that you think you want or that Apple, Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Sun (Java) manage to slip past your defences. First install has been AV (Eset), next install will be Paragon (for back-up). Then my own programs, then User files. It would be a very interesting experiment to compare the 'drivers' between my current (clean-install, working) Windows folder hieararchy and those in the corresponding windows.old hiearachy. That would settle to some extent whether it is the drivers themselves or some other setting in some different file(s). Thanks again for your support here, and I like the Mark Twain quote.
